CSR Donation To Don Bosco Mission Center

Don Bosco Boys is a Salesian Catholic Center that offers Shelter, clothing, rehabilitation, and most importantly education to street boys of Nairobi County.

Many of the street boys come from a harsh background of drug addiction, robbery and some of them do not know their last name or even their date of birth. Life in the Don Bosco Boys Centre provides them with a chance for a better future and an opportunity to get an education, which is a core pillar for Platinum Credit Ltd.

On Wednesday the 19th of May 2021,  Platinum Credit brought a huge smile to these kids as they supported the Centre with Solar Lad panels for their dormitory and dining section to curb insecurity around the area and a safe haven for the kids. Also part of the donation included food items, i.e unga, oil, tissue, and hygiene items.

Cancer Walk

Last year we joined hands in fighting the war against cancer. This was marked in Eldoret, organized by Moi Memorial Hospital and we got to partner with them in their Walk.

Team Eldoret Branch participated in it led by their RSM, Mr. Ronald Marwanga, where they did a number of activities and even won some medal and certificates for participation.

This was a noble initiative as we strive to make Kenya a safe and a better place that offers cancer treatment.

Eldonets Team

As a testament of our commitment to sports development, this year we sponsored Eldonet Basketball Team from Eldoret to play in the 2019 Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) league. They reached the KBF Quarter finals, first ever since their debut to the League.

Our staff joined this team to cheer them and create banter as they played in almost all towns where our branches are located at.

Mama Zawadi Initiative

Last year we partnered again with Still A Mum team to create awareness on infant mortality in Kenya and provide psychosocial support to parents who have lost their babies through the Mama Zawadi programme. Main focus this year for Platinum Credit Ltd was to impact mothers and mother’s to be who’re living in our informal settlements.

The programme also visited Mombasa City to create awareness on self-care, mental health, loss & grief, pregnancy 101,labour & delivery, postpartum care and how to take care of a new born. We embarked to empower a group of social counselors both at Amani counselling Centre and Masjid Mwajuma Mosque.

At Amani Counselling Centre, our Team Leader from Mombasa LBF Branch, Mr.Leon Lubanga gave an educative talk of Financial Management as part of the day’s agenda.

It was an interesting & refreshing experience at Masjid Mwajuma Mosque, as Still a Mum Team provided training to a group of Muslim mothers and mothers to be on mental health, loss and grief.

Overall it was an inspiring initiative.

Water tanks – Prisons & Dispensaries

Locals from Kambi Moi and its surroundings now had a reason to smile, after Platinum Credit Ltd, through the Nakuru Branch donated 2 water tanks to Lengenet Dispensary last year. These water tanks will be used in harvesting rain water and not only benefit patients, but also the community at large.

The dispensary previously had its own challenges on serving their patients due to lack of water, but this time round our kind donation has helped them conquer this challenge. This CSI Initiative was led by David Matimu, RSM,Upper South Rift Region and his team

Also in the spirit of water tank donation Paul Kilonzo Lower Eastern Region donated a tank for Kyulungwa Pri School and finally upper Nairobi Region donated water tank for Muranga Prison.
